Ruben Sobrino made the most of a cameo appearance at Mestalla on Wednesday night to score his first goal at the stadium with a Valencia CF shirt, grabbing the equaliser against Sevilla FC. The striker spoke to Movistar+ LaLiga to give his thoughts after the game.
The point
"The point feels bad for us. We have to always try to get the 3 points. We had a good first half, and although we conceded a goal at the end of it we could have gone into the break with the score at 1-1. We should highlight that we were alive for the entire game, inclding when we were struggling the most. We always like to earn the three points, but we need to keep fighting."
Never giving up
"When we scored our first goal, we went after a second. We had many chances, many free kicks and crosses, and we were close to turning around the scoreline, but it wasn't to be."
Celades' instructions
"He asked me for the same thing as always: To be as ready as I could. There are games in which I've played 5, 10 or 20 minutes. It doesn't matter how lng I'm on the pitch for, I have to be as prepared as possible to be useful and to help the team. This goal helps me in that sense."
A first goal for VCF at Mestalla
"I've always said, every minute that I play for this club makes me proud. To score my first goal at Mestalla gives me incredible satisfaction. I'd been doing extra work for a long time in order to be as ready as possible when it was my turn to play. When a player barely features, it's tough, above all physically, but I was getting ready for when the coach wanted to use me, so that I could provide work, work and more work. With that, the goals come as well."
